The 12th Annual Salam Science Fair 2020 was postponed in March due to the pandemic in which more than 200 students registered. The Tal’im Department of Jama’at Ahmadiyya Canada considered the students’ and parents’ interests and are announcing an online virtual Abdus Salam Science Fair

Registration Closed (Last date was Sep 30, 2020): 139 projects were registered and video presentations of these projects can be found in the beginning of this page. The science fair results will be posted after Oct 04, 2020. 

BEFORE REGISTERING PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW

1. Re-registration

All students will have to prepare project videos and upload them during registration process. The general online audience can evaluate and comment on the project. A panel of judges will review it before a final decision is made. Before uploading your video, please follow theses instructions:

· Video presentation should be precise not more than 5 minutes in length

· Preferred video format MP4 720p or 1080p. Preferred size 30 MB

· Landscape camera mode with no background and the camera can move during the project exhibition

· Video should be divided into three parts

  • Student’s name and Jama’at/Imarat along with the – project title
  • Short description of the basic concepts of science involved in the project
  • Project exhibition and future aspects of the project

Important: You may edit your video before uploading. Once uploaded, this will be considered your final presentation of your project and cannot be replaced by a new project video later

2. Selection Process

A panel of judges will review the videos and select the top projects, remember a student could be contacted during the selection process. Complete guidelines and assessment criteria have been provided in the above video. Moreover, Local Jama’at/Imarat can help and supervise students in the preparation of the video.

Note: Parents can help students but remember it is the student’s work.

3. Abdus Salam Science Fair Day

The names of the Top Scientists, along with their earned cash prizes, will be announced in an online ceremony

Disclaimer: Due to the online nature of this unique Abdus Salam Science Fair 2020, the video project presentations submitted by our students will be made available to public on the YouTube platform. It is expected that this will bring quality in the science projects in future and also help in developing more interest and enthusiasm among AMJ students toward science and technology.
